Getting the licence

The Order provides several paths to the licence: a social work degree from a Quebec university (Laval, McGill, Université de Montréal, Sherbrooke and the Université du Québec network), a degree from France or Switzerland covered by a mutual recognition arrangement, membership as a social worker elsewhere in Canada, or equivalence for a degree from outside Quebec or in a related field. The application is made online with ID, proof of French proficiency and the official transcript. In the public health and social services network, the job title nomenclature requires social workers to be members of the OTSTCFQ.
